This is an unprecedented honor that underscores the dedication and craftsmanship of our entire team. Jim Murray perfectly captured the essence of our whisky with his glowing words: "There are times when you want to stop spitting, close down the computer and just drink the whisky: this is one of them…"

The Story Behind the Winner

This award-winning single grain whisky, distilled from rye and malt, matured for no less than 12 years in a carefully selected first fill Bourbon cask. Bottled at a powerful cask strength of 66.1% ABV, it's a true powerhouse of flavor and complexity. As a single cask bottling, this edition was strictly limited to just 242 bottles.

At Braeckman, we firmly believe in the purity of our product. That's why all our whiskies retain their natural color and are not chill-filtered. This process guarantees that no acquired aromas are lost.

Jim Murray's own descriptions speak volumes about the quality of our whisky:

  • NOSE: "Not quite as well nuanced as the 10-year old on account of some liberties taken by the muscular tannins, muzzling the clever games played by the grains. But attractive nonetheless."
  • TASTE: "Ahhh… now that’s more like it! The oils which arrive first, act as a clarion call to the bubbling, crisp grains and rabid dark sugars which then foment the striking spices. Your taste buds are left reeling at this massive and beautifully orchestrated flavour invasion."
  • FINISH: "The oils return, though now the toasty butterscotch shews the rye up in a favourable light."
